WEBINAR TO EXPLORE "HIGHEST PERFORMANCE LINUX COMPUTING"
Want to learn more about the potential of 64-bit Linux on Itanium 2-based systems? Linux kernel author David Mosberger, a senior research scientist at HP Labs, will explore this topic in a free webinar, or Web-based seminar, set for Nov. 19.
In his webinar titled "Getting the Most from the Highest Performance Linux Computing," Mosberger will explore both the performance and the capacity advantages of Linux on the Intel Itanium 2 architecture. He will compare and contrast the differences and the value of Linux on Itanium 2-based systems relative to earlier architectures that support Linux. The presentation will examine the areas where native 64-bit addressability and the parallelism of the Itanium 2 architecture will have an impact. Mosberger will also offer tips on getting the best performance for applications on Itanium 2-based systems.
In addition, the webinar will include a review of the Ohio Supercomputer Center's plans for implementation and use of a supercomputer based on Intel Itanium 2 processors.
